What Is IRMAA?
IRMAA (Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount) is an adjustment added to a beneficiary’s premium based on their modified adjusted gross income (MAGI). Individuals with a MAGI above a certain threshold will pay a higher premium. In addition, IRMAA brackets are tiered, meaning that as income increases the additional charges increase as well.
